When dealing with an expansive SharePoint deployment, the site collection boundary is a wall frequently run into in many aspects of managing such an environment. One of the most common business processes in any organization is the request. A user or department must request something from another team:  A user must ask IT for hardware or software; a manager must ask HR to recruit for an open position; an administrator must ask Facilities to replace some furniture. Once the request is made, someone must be assigned to fulfill the request, the requester or a manager might want to keep tabs on the request status, and information about the resolution should be documented. In every organization keeping up with these requests and making sure they are fulfilled in a timely and appropriate manner can be haphazard. Requests can come in a variety of ways (email, phone calls, hallway conversations). The initial request might not contain all of the information needed to fulfill it, requiring back-and-forth communication before the process can start. Tracking of requests may be inconsistent, difficult, or absent.

In this session you'll learn to use SharePoint to build a simple, but useful, request and tracking system that will:  Allow users to post a request; alert the fulfillment team that a request has been posted; provide tools for assignment, tracking, and management; and alert the requestor when the request is complete. Office 365 handles many languages individually, but if there is more than one language at once things get tricky. Making SharePoint sites truly multilingual using the Multilingual User Interface is already challenging, but on Office 365 the challenges are greater. Some solutions that work with SharePoint on-premise are not possible. When configuring sites or localizing apps, you may be surprised how many different factors Office 365 uses to determine the language of different components. Many of the language configuration and localisation methods you may have seen do not tell the entire story; they apply to some scenarios and not to others. You will find out what to watch out for, what works and what doesn’t, and how to fix it. You will learn some of the language-related challenges and opportunities that apply to both Office 365 and SharePoint 2013 or 2016, and some of the additional challenges unique to Office 365. Some Quick Wins to Jump Start Your SharePoint Implementation

Microsoft Azure is a natural fit for building enhanced solutions for Office 365.  In this session we'll show how we can make use of SharePoint List Webhooks to automatically apply intelligent tags and metadata to photos being uploaded to an Image Library. We'll make use of Azure Functions to listen for new and updated photos and then process those photos against Microsoft Cognitive Services Computer Vision API on Azure to provide us our intelligent metadata.  This concept of specialized processing in response to item creation and updates is a very common business scenario and with the core concepts introduced in this session you'll have the understanding necessary to apply this to your own projects.
